Pre- and post-intervention, female high school students with signs of depression completed surveys about risk and protective factors. Students participated in a weekly support group that enhanced coping skills and provided emotional support. Before the intervention, students were at risk for suicide. At the end, there was a 55 percent reduction in suicide ideation, 27 percent reduction in perceived stress, and 26 percent reduction in family distress. (SM)
