Multiple Perspectives on the Purposes of High School Cooperative Education: A Qualitative Study.
Hutchinson, Nancy L.; Steiner-Bell, Karin; Munby, Hugh; Chin, Peter; Versnel, Joan; Chapman, Christine
Journal of Cooperative Education, v36 n3 p73-85 2001
Interviews with four co-op students as well as parents, cooperating teachers, and workplace supervisors were analyzed as multiple-perspective cases, by stakeholder groups, and across cases. Focus groups provided additional data from seven co-op students. All stakeholders believed that co-op broadened the school curriculum. Adults were more concerned with workplace learning, whereas students focused on learning about particular careers. (Contains 30 references.) (SK)
