Investigated 298 student-generated metaphors about their educational experiences at four types of U.S. higher education institutions: Research I university, private religious university, public regional university, and community college. Uncovered 13 themes, as well as patterns related to school type and learning motivation. Concluded that the metaphor of student as consumer is inaccurate. (EV)
