Providing Instruction from Novel Staff as an Antecedent Intervention for Child Tantrum Behavior in a Public School Classroom.
Luiselli, James K.; Murbach, Linda
Education and Treatment of Children, v25 n3 p356-65 Aug 2002
This case study evaluated an antecedent intervention for tantrums by a five year-old girl with cognitive, language, and motor problems. Functional assessment correlated tantrums with high-demand activities but not with novel staff. Intervention placed novel staff in charge of high-demand activities and successfully eliminated tantrums, which remained extinct at a one month follow-up. Staff found the intervention effective and acceptable. (Contains references.) (Author/PB)
