The Impact of the Home Instructional Program for Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) on School Performance in 3rd and 6th Grades.
Bradley, Robert H.; Gilkey, Barbara
Early Education and Development, v13 n3 p301-11 Jul 2002
Used post hoc matching design to compare children who participated in the Home Instructional Program for Preschool Youngsters throughout Arkansas with children from same classrooms with either no preschool experiences or with other preschool experiences in Grades 3 and 6. Found that HIPPY showed a modest positive impact on school suspensions, grades, classroom behavior, and achievement test scores at both grade levels. (Author/KB)
