Race and Gender at the Crossroads: African American Females in School.
Frazier-Kouassi, Susan
African American Research Perspectives, v8 n1 p151-62 Spr-Sum 2002
In studying the education of African American women, some researchers focus on the plight of girls in school (minimizing or ignoring racial/ethnic distinctions), while others focus on the crisis situation of African American male students. This paper reviews these two approaches, then discusses the intersection of race, gender, and class and future directions for research. (Contains references.) (SM)
