A Review and Analysis of the Clinical- and Cost-Effectiveness Studies of Comprehensive Health Promotion and Disease Management Programs at the Worksite: 1998-2000 Update.
Pelletier, Kenneth R.
American Journal of Health Promotion, v16 n2 p107-16 Nov-Dec 2001
Reviewed clinical- and cost-effectiveness studies, including quasi-experimental studies, of comprehensive, multifactorial worksite health promotion programs. Searching such sources as MEDLINE, ERIC, and ADI identified 15 studies. Results suggest that providing individualized risk reduction for high- risk employees within the context of comprehensive programming is the critical element of worksite interventions. Most studies indicate positive clinical and cost outcomes. (SM)
