Predicting Dysphoria and Relationship Adjustment: Gender Differences in Their Longitudinal Relationship.
Remen, Anna L.; Chambless, Dianne L.
Sex Roles: A Journal of Research, v44 n1-2 p45-60 Jan 2001
Explored gender differences in the longitudinal association between relationship satisfaction and dysphoria among dating college students. Data from student surveys and interviews indicated that initial relationship satisfaction predicted later dysphoria in women but not in men. Elevated levels of initial dysphoria were predictive of later relationship dissatisfaction for both men and women. (SM)
