The Efficacy of Infusing Homework Assignments into Traditional Physical Education Activity Classes.
Jorgenson, Shane M.; George, James D.; Blakemore, Connie L.; Chamberlain, Diane
Physical Educator, v58 n1 p14-25 Late Win 2001
Examined whether brief, take-home fitness and wellness lessons given to college physical education activity classes could teach students lifetime fitness concepts. Pre- and post-intervention surveys found that intervention students showed significant cognitive improvements compared to controls. They engaged in regular physical activity and possessed relatively positive attitudes about physical education. Students preferred this approach to class lectures. (SM)
