Feminization of Elementary School Teaching in the Commonwealth Caribbean.
Miller, Errol
Institute of Education Annual, v1 p3-42 1998
Investigated changing gender composition of the elementary school teaching force in the Commonwealth Caribbean from 1930s to 1990s. Found that feminization of Caribbean elementary teaching force began at the same time as in the United States, and that these changes are linked to exclusion through manipulation of the structure of opportunity for upward social mobility open to subordinate groups.
