When Bad Things Happen to Good Superintendents: What Comes between Well-Meaning School Boards and Their Superintendents?
Marlowe, John
American School Board Journal, v188 n4 p30-33 Apr 2001
Major causes of "sudden-death syndrome" for superintendents include mismatched priorities, unseen problems, interference from special-interest groups, and misdirected disagreements.
