Attitudes toward Statistics Assessments.
Onwuegbuzie, Anthony J.
Assessment & Evaluation in Higher Education, v25 n4 p321-39 Dec 2000
Surveyed statistics students on: preferred methods of assessment; methods that induce the least anxiety; and methods that induce higher-order thinking, characteristics of students with the most negative overall attitudes toward assessments, and performance versus authentic assessments. Found that students preferred untimed assessments allowing use of supporting materials and rated performance assessments higher than authentic assessments. Age, college mathematics experience, and statistics anxiety were determinants. (EV)
