Children's Social Cognitions: Physically and Relationally Aggressive Strategies and Children's Goals in Peer Conflict Situations.
Delveaux, Kendra D.; Daniels, Tina
Merrill-Palmer Quarterly, v46 n4 p672-91 Oct 2000
Assessed the relation between goals and strategies for conflict resolution of children in 4th through 6th grades. Found that prosocial strategies positively correlated with relationship and equality goals, whereas physically or relationally aggressive strategies related to self-interest, control, and revenge goals. Discovered gender differences in endorsement of physically aggressive strategies and prosocial strategies, but not relationally aggressive strategies. (TJQ)
