Introduction.
Wagner, Eric F.
Journal of Child and Adolescent Substance Abuse, v9 n4 p1-4 2000
Studies show that most adolescents try smoking, over one-third become daily smokers, and nearly one-quarter become addicted to cigarettes. Significant gains in understanding and treating nicotine addiction among adolescents have not been made. Much work remains to be done concerning the developmental appropriateness and usefulness of conceptualizations, methods, and strategies initially developed for adult smoking. (Author/MKA)
