Classroom Assessment for Improved Learning: A Case Study in Using E-mail and Involving Students in Preparing Assignments.
Boles, Wageeh
Higher Education Research & Development, v18 n1 p145-57 Apr 1999
Studied two approaches to classroom assessment: the use of e-mail as a teaching and learning tool, and engaging students in preparing their own assignments. Surveys of undergraduate and graduate students in two academic years indicated that the initiatives improved the level of learning, increased student and teacher interactions, promoted lifelong learning, and contributed to the overall satisfaction of students and faculty.
