Emotion Management and Organizational Functions: A Case Study of Patterns in a Not-for-Profit Organization.
Callahan, Jamie L.
Human Resource Development Quarterly, v11 n3 p245-67 Fall 2000
Interviews, observations, and surveys of 25 members of a nonprofit organization indicated that the majority of emotion work (expression or experience of emotion) involved suppression of anger; women, especially volunteers, performed most emotion work. These actions were associated with four systems functions: adaptation, goal attainment, integration, and latent pattern maintenance. (SK)
