The Meaning of Suicide Attempts by Young Adults.
Everall, Robin D.
Canadian Journal of Counselling, v34 n2 p111-25 Apr 2000
Describes study identifying themes that characterize experiences of young adults who made one suicide attempt between the ages of 20 and 24. Six major themes identified include: family experiences, adolescent interactions, emotional experiences, self-destructive behaviors, depression, and perception of control. Views suicide attempts as a continuous process that encompasses the individual's worldview rather than as isolated events. (Author/JDM)
