Faciltating Healthy Ego Development in African American Female College Students Attending Predominantly White Universities.
Johnson-Newman, Deborah; Exum, Herbert A.
NASPA Journal, v36 n1 p70-80 Fall 1998
Presents a review of several common emotional and developmental challenges faced by African American female college students who attend predominantly White colleges and universities. Suggests that these challenges can be addressed through programs that promote these students' psychological growth and maturity. Outlines a cognitive-developmental intervention strategy based primarily on Loevinger's theory of ego development. (Contains 30 references.) (Author/GCP)
