Coping with Cancer. Can Exercise Help?
Courneya, Kerry S.; Mackey, John R.; Jones, Lee W.
Physician and Sportsmedicine, v28 n5 p49-51,55-56,66-68,71-73 May 2000
Exercise can positively affect a broad range of quality of life parameters in people with cancer. The general exercise prescription is moderate-intensity exercise 3-5 days per week. Conditions that warrant prescription modification include fatigue during treatment, acute or chronic physical impairments, and presence of bone cancer. Research suggests that exercise prescription improves motivation and adherence in people with cancer. (SM)
