The Effects of Ethnicity and Perceived Power on Women's Sexual Behavior.
Soet, Johanna E.; Dudley, William N.; Dilorio, Colleen
Psychology of Women Quarterly, v23 n4 p707-23 Dec 1999
Examined the influences of perceived dominance and ethnicity on women's safer sex behavior. Surveys of sexually active, heterosexual female college students indicated that perceived dominance significantly predicted personal empowerment regarding sexual decision making in their current relationship and safer sex behaviors. Differences emerged between African American and white women in personal empowerment and safer sex behavior. (SM)
