The Long Branch of Phase-Environment Fit: Concurrent and Longitudinal Implications of Match and Mismatch among Diabetic and Nondiabetic Youth.
Obeidallah, Dawn A.; Hauser, Stuart T.; Jacobson, Alan M.
Journal of Adolescent Research, v14 n1 p95-121 Jan 1999
Examined links between the match between adolescents' developmental stage and the family and community environment and their psychosocial outcomes, implications for later outcomes, and impact of adolescent diabetic status. Found that even after controlling for psychosocial factors during adolescence, the benefits of developmental match were observed during young adulthood. Preadolescents with diabetes perceived their community as more supportive than other groups. (Author/KB)
