Investigates inadequate parent-child relationships, problems with regard to sexuality, and substance abuse among African university students. An inadequate parent-child relationship, in addition to other factors, appears to contribute to substance abuse and sexuality problems. Results indicate a need for life-skills training for both adolescents and parents, particularly regarding communication. (Author/GCP)
