University Science Students' Experiences of Investigative Project Work and Their Images of Science.
Ryder, Jim; Leach, John
International Journal of Science Education, v21 n9 p945-56 Sep 1999
Considers the ways in which students' activities during project work are influenced by their images of science. Finds that the concept of "epistemic demand" may help in anticipating difficulties students might have during science project work, and that students' images of science are developed as a result of implicit and explicit messages communicated through project work. Contains 12 references. (Author/WRM)
