Teacher-Student Interaction in Urban At-Risk Classrooms: Differential Behavior, Relationship Quality, and Student Satisfaction with School.
Baker, Jean A.
Elementary School Journal, v100 n1 p57-70 Sep 1999
Examined teacher/student interactions and relationship quality among poor, urban, African-American third through fifth graders expressing differential school satisfaction. Found that perceptions of a caring, supportive relationship with a teacher and a positive classroom environment were related to school satisfaction as early as third grade. Students with high and low school satisfaction interacted differently with teachers. (Author/KB)
