Measuring Effectiveness of Health Education in a Web-Based Learning Environment: A Preliminary Report.
Lockyer, Lori; Patterson, John; Harper, Barry
Higher Education Research and Development, v18 n2 p233-46 Jun 1999
A study with 62 students compared the effectiveness of face-to-face and World Wide Web-based instruction in the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) segment of an undergraduate health-education course. Results suggest collaborative learning activities were more effective in the Web-based than in the class environment; students perceived the Web-based method to be more effective at facilitating understanding.
