Examines scholarly problems related to Native-American texts written collaboratively by Native and White authors, in light of colonialist assumptions and a legal tradition that does not recognize collective ownership of cultural property. Discusses questions of authorship, determination of heirs, ethical conflicts over control of the scholarship itself, copyright law, and "fair use" for scholars and educators. (SV)
