A survey of faculty in three Australian universities indicates serious concern in many areas of academic responsibility and future prospects. The quality of new students, teaching, and research are perceived as declining. Changes in university administration to a more corporate style are seen as a threat to academic freedom. Research universities are concerned that funding is stretched too thin. (Author/MSE)
