U.S. Colleges Widen Foreign Recruiting To Offset Loss of Students from Asia.
Desruisseaux, Paul
Chronicle of Higher Education, v45 n5 pA55-A57 Sep 25 1998
Many colleges and universities are experiencing sharp declines in enrollment of students from Asian countries suffering from currency devaluations and economic turmoil. However, enhanced recruiting in other parts of the world and relatively high retention rates for already enrolled students from those countries have helped many institutions offset the drop. Intensive English programs were the hardest hit by the declines. (MSE)
