Using Multimedia: A Descriptive Investigation of Incidental Language Learning.
Brett, Paul
Computer Assisted Language Learning, v11 n2 p179-200 Apr 1998
Investigated incidental language-learning by subjects using multimedia as a self-study and mandatory component of an undergraduate module. Language items recalled and reused while subjects were engaged in a meaning-focused task were compared with those in two multimedia applications for evidence of incidental learning. Analysis compared language items of multimedia input, and those made salient through tasks with learners' output. (Author/VWL)
