Nonword Repetition and Child Language Impairment.
Dollaghan, Chris; Campbell, Thomas F.
Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, v41 n5 p1136-46 Oct 1998
Two studies investigated a brief, processing-dependent, nonword repetition task, designed to minimize biases associated with traditional language tests. Results revealed that nonword repetition distinguished between school-age children independently identified as language impaired or normally developing, suggesting its potential usefulness as a screening measure for language impairment in children. The study also supported the use of likelihood ratios. (Author/DB)
