Block Scheduling: Real Reform or Another Flawed Educational Fad?
Wronkovich, Michael
American Secondary Education, v26 n4 p1-6 Jun 1998
Examines some evidence presented for and against block scheduling and makes recommendations based on these observations. Existing empirical evidence is ambivalent regarding academic benefits, particularly for mathematics achievement. Alternative scheduling seems right for some curricular areas and wrong for others. Blocking some classes and not others is preferable to an all-or-nothing approach. (12 references) (MLH)
