A training program for educational supervisors for medical doctors in specialist training was introduced in Norway in 1986. The program has been continuously evaluated using questionnaires at course end. Participating consultants reported that the training program helped them become better supervisors, motivated them to supervise trainees, and stimulated them to improve the structure of teaching programs in the hospital ward.
