Marital Conflict and Child Adjustment: What about Gender?
Snyder, Jessica R.
Developmental Review, v18 n3 p390-420 Sep 1998
Summarizes the main theoretical frameworks attempting to explain the causal mechanisms connecting marital conflict to child adjustment. Outlines the implications of accumulated gender-related research findings for each theoretical framework. Argues that gender may be a moderator of many of the mechanisms outlined in existing theoretical frameworks and it needs to be more effectively incorporated in future research. (Author)
