High Minority Enrollment, High School-Lunch Rates: Predisposition to College.
Hamrick, Florence A.; Stage, Frances K.
Review of Higher Education, v21 n4 p343-57 Sum 1998
A study tested the accuracy of a general model in predicting college predisposition among eighth-grade students of diverse ethnicity at schools characterized by high minority enrollments and high participation levels in subsidized school lunch programs. Results suggest models using broadly aggregated student data may overlook important distinctions in college predisposition related to ethnicity, gender, and school experience. (Author/MSE)
