Analyzes suicide rates from 1887 to 1993 in the Italian population (ages 15 to 24 years old, and over 65 years). Findings indicate an increase in suicide among the elderly population over the test period. Rates were three times higher for men than for women, with elderly men having the highest rate. (RJM)
