Evaluation of Academic Librarians' Instructional Performance: Report of a National Survey.
Ragains, Patrick
Research Strategies, v15 n3 p159-75 1997
A survey of evaluation practices used to assess the effectiveness of library instruction at 44 colleges and universities found that "reaction data" was used most often, although it provided little evidence of what the students learned. Argues that subjective data alone are inadequate to measure student learning, guide program improvements, or indicate librarian performance. Includes the library instruction evaluation survey. (PEN)
