The Compatibility of Computer-Mediated Communication Solutions with Beginning Level Foreign Language Curricula.
Collentine, Joseph; Collentine, Karina
Computer Assisted Language Learning, v10 n5 p411-25 Nov 1997
Explores the compatibility of computer-mediated communication (CMC) with two basic objectives of modern foreign language curricula: development of functional and pragmatic abilities, and instructional materials informed by what is known about cognitive processes responsible for acquisition. It is suggested that CMC is particularly compatible with early-stage language learning processes, and outlines an introductory Spanish curriculum. (Author/MSE)
