Best Practice in School Speech Language Assessment: Using Early Intervention Results.
Montgomery, Judy K.; Valdez, Felicia; Herer, Gilbert R.
Journal of Children's Communication Development, v19 n1 p3-11 Fall 1997
A study of 52 African-American children with speech/language disorders investigated how a large urban school district implemented recommendations of an early intervention program that fed into its schools. Results showed that the early intervention team's assessment and identification information was highly accurate and that early intervention resulted in the greatest number of children receiving the least costly special education service when they began school.
