A Study into the Possible Link between Anti-Epileptic Drugs and the Risk of Fractures in Muckamore Abbey Hospital.
Tohill, Carmel
Journal of Intellectual and Developmental Disability, v22 n4 p281-92 Dec 1997
A study investigated whether the effects of anti-epileptic drugs were (carbamazepine, phenobarbitone, and phenytoin) related, to the incidence of fractures in 85 Irish patients. If patients were only on one antiepileptic drug, there appeared to be no correlation; however, if patients were taking a combination of three drugs, they were more likely to have fractures. (CR)
