Discussion of the government's relationship with Catholic colleges looks at both benefits (federal aid to institutions, student aid) and burdens (faculty unionization, compliance with antidiscrimination laws, status of student organizations) from a legal perspective. Specific litigation, outcomes, and implications are discussed in each of these areas. The issue of social justice in federal regulation is also examined briefly. (MSE)
