The School Experience of Some Minority Ethnic Students in London Schools during Initial Teacher Training.
Jones, C.; Maguire, M.; Watson, B.
Journal of Education for Teaching, v23 n2 p131-44 Jun 1997
To examine in-school experiences of minority British preservice teachers, researchers followed minority and majority student teachers, interviewing them midpoint during their course. Minority students overwhelmingly felt discomfort in their school placements. They had to adopt tactics for coping with racial and cultural issues rather than develop strategies for making progress.
