Meeting the Needs of Rural Students Through Distance Advising: The Role of Transfer Guides in Three Measures of Student Success.
Dawson, Erica Cantrell; Dell, Cindy Ann
NACADA Journal, v17 n1 p49-54 Spr 1997
Describes course information and supportive advising provided in articulation guides for students transferring from Northwest Community College (Montana) (NCC) to Montana State University. Comparison of post-transfer grade declines, grade recovery, and persistence of NCC transfer students with other community college transfers indicates that severity of transfer shock and extent of recovery were not affected by the guides, but persistence was.
