One Writer Two Languages: A Case Study of a 15-Year-Old Student's Writing Process in Danish and English.
Albrechtsen, Dorte
International Journal of Applied Linguistics, v7 n2 p223-250 1997
A study compared the writing strategies used by an adolescent in two essays, one in Danish (native language) and one in English (second language), assigned as homework. Analysis of think-aloud protocols focused on four behaviors: commenting; reading aloud; writing; and verbatim verbalizations of text before writing. Analysis found very similar methods of working in the two languages. (Author/MSE)
