Relationship of Cognitive Style and Theoretical Orientation to Psychology Interns' Preferences for Supervision.
Lochner, Bruce T.; Melchert, Timothy P.
Journal of Counseling Psychology, v44 n2 p256-60 Apr 1997
Investigates the effects of cognitive style and theoretical orientation on psychology interns' judgments about the type of supervision they find most beneficial. Results indicate that trainees' cognitive styles and behavioral emphasis of their theoretical orientations were significantly related to their preferences for task-oriented and relationship-oriented supervision.
