Draws on research from programs fighting exclusion and poverty to describe the education of Pontian (repatriated) children. Gives special emphasis to education of younger children in relation to career and survival issues facing families in transition. Also discusses impact of these special circumstances on parents' educational values and the difficulties Pontian children face in adjusting to the Greek system. (EV)
