Problem-Solving Appraisal and the Prediction of Depression during Pregnancy and in the Postpartum Period.
Elliott, Timothy R.; And Others
Journal of Counseling & Development, v74 n6 p645-51 Jul-Aug 1996
Tested hypothesis that higher levels of positive affect and lower levels of negative affect would predict depression during pregnancy and in the postpartum period. Analysis of 100 women indicated that women at risk for depression during pregnancy and in the postpartum period may exhibit heightened negative moods and a dearth of positive affective experiences.
