A study comparing accounting education and practice in Korea (n=35 schools), Japan (n=26 schools), and the United States (n=134 schools) found Korean and Japanese colleges have fewer general education courses than those in the U.S. Implications for development of Korean accounting programs and articulation of programs at the international level are discussed.
