Examines Chicano parents' expectations for the socialization of their children and notes their dissatisfaction with some aspects of how they themselves were raised. Also provides examples of how minority parents undergo transitions between past, present, and future cultural expectations and how they, along with their children, are involved in forging new cultural forms and identities.
