Responses from 503 students in Virginia high schools with marketing programs using the Self-Image Congruence model and Bass-Talarzyk model showed that student attitudes toward marketing were more closely related to its tangible attributes than its symbolic attributes. Significant tangible and symbolic attributes could be used to develop a recruitment campaign. (SK)
