Mothers' and Kindergartners' Talk about Interpersonal Relationships.
Flannagan, Dorothy
Merrill-Palmer Quarterly, v42 n4 p519-36 Oct 1996
Analyzed conversations within mother-kindergartner dyads for tendencies to discuss specific categories of child-other relationships, differences in tendencies with gender and ethnicity, and the association between discussed categories and children's perceived peer acceptance. Found that discussion categories varied with gender, ethnicity, and time, and that associations between categories discussed and peer acceptance existed for boys and Hispanics. (EV)
